A kitchen planned around how you cook

A kitchen remodel touches almost every trade in the house, so it pays to have one person who keeps the whole picture in view. Coastal Stone handles kitchens from a refresh of cabinets and counters to a full gut and new layout.

Alex helps you choose cabinets, countertops, backsplash tile and hardware that fit your budget, then builds it carefully: clean lines, tight seams and fixtures that work the way they should.

You get a written scope and quote up front, and you deal with the owner directly from the first visit to the final walkthrough.

What's included

The scope of a kitchen remodel

Every kitchen remodel is scoped to your home. This is the work it can cover.

  • Cabinets

New cabinets installed level, square and properly fastened, or a partial replacement where the boxes are sound and only the look needs to change.

  • Countertops and islands

Counters and islands sized to how you use the room: prep space next to the range, seating at the island, landing room beside the fridge.

  • Backsplash and flooring tile

Backsplash tile set with straight, even grout lines and clean cuts around outlets and windows, plus tile floors where you want them.

  • Sinks, faucets and plumbing fixtures

Undermount and farmhouse sinks, faucets, pot fillers and dishwasher hookups, with the supply and drain lines redone where the old ones are tired.

  • Lighting

Updated lighting so the counters are actually lit where you work, not just the middle of the ceiling.

  • Hardware and finishing details

Pulls, knobs, trim and the small finishing work that makes a kitchen look complete rather than nearly done.

How it works

How a kitchen remodel runs

A predictable process, so you always know what happens next.

  1. See the kitchen

Alex comes out, measures, and asks how you use the space: who cooks, where things pile up, what you would change first.

  2. Choose and quote

Together you settle cabinets, counters, tile and fixtures that fit the budget, and you get a written scope and quote.

  3. Build in order

Demolition, any plumbing and electrical changes, cabinets, counters, then tile, fixtures and hardware, with Alex keeping you posted.

  4. Walk it together

Doors, drawers, faucets and appliances are checked with you, and any last details are handled before we call it done.

Materials & options

Choices worth thinking through

Most of a kitchen budget goes to a handful of decisions. Here is how we think about them with clients.

  • Cabinet style and finish

Shaker doors, like the white kitchens in our photos, stay in style and hide wear well. Painted cabinets give a clean look; stained wood shows less in high-traffic spots. Where the existing boxes are solid, new doors and hardware can change the room for less.

  • Quartz or natural stone counters

Quartz is non-porous and needs no sealing, which makes it an easy everyday surface. Granite and other natural stone bring one-of-a-kind patterns and handle heat well, but need sealing from time to time. Either way, use trivets for hot pans.

  • Sink and faucet

A farmhouse (apron-front) sink needs a cabinet built for it, so it is decided early. Undermount sinks make wiping counters easy. A pot filler over the range needs a water line in the wall, which is simplest to add while the walls are open.

  • Hardware and finishes near the coast

Salt air can be hard on some metal finishes, so near the coast it is worth choosing hardware and fixtures with finishes rated for it. Matte black, brushed nickel and stainless each hide fingerprints differently.

Reviews

In our clients’ words

What clients wrote on Yelp about their kitchen remodeling work, word for word.

“At first, I hired Alex to do some handyman work around the house, and I was really impressed with his quality of work and reasonable prices. When it was time to remodel my kitchen, choosing Alex was a no-brainer. He guided me through the entire process, from picking out the best cabinets within my budget to selecting all the new hardware. The transformation was incredible—my kitchen looks amazing now! Alex's attention to detail and expertise made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.”

  • “I had an old sink with cracked granite and really wanted a farmhouse sink. Alex from Coastal Stone made it happen! He re-did the plumbing, installed my new fixtures, and even fixed the overflow issue with my dishwasher. Quick, punctual, and professional—now I have a beautiful sink and a fully functional dishwasher. Highly recommend!”

FAQ

Kitchen remodeling questions

Straight answers about kitchen remodeling with Coastal Stone.

Can you help me pick cabinets and finishes?

Yes. Alex walks you through cabinets, counters, tile and hardware and points out where you can save without it showing.

Do you handle smaller kitchen updates too?

Yes. Not every kitchen needs a full gut. A new sink, faucet, backsplash or set of fixtures is welcome work.

Can I keep my layout and just update the finishes?

Often, yes. Keeping the sink, range and dishwasher where they are is usually the simplest route, because the plumbing and wiring stay put. If moving something would make the kitchen work much better, Alex will explain what that involves.

How do I get a price for my kitchen?

Every kitchen is different, so we do not quote from a price list. Alex visits, measures and listens to what you want, then you get a written quote for your scope. The estimate is free.

Can I use my kitchen while it is being remodeled?

It depends on the scope. A backsplash or sink swap is quick to work around; a full remodel takes the kitchen out of action for a while. We talk through the schedule before work starts so you can plan for it.
