If you have a project in mind and are not sure who to call, describe it in the quote form or call Alex. If it is not a fit, we will tell you straight away.

What's included

The scope of a construction project

Every construction project is scoped to your home. This is the work it can cover.

  • Framing and layout changes

New walls, openings and layout changes, framed straight and square so the finishes that go on top look right.

  • Drywall and plaster

New drywall, patches that disappear, and wall repairs after plumbing or electrical work.

  • Tile and flooring

Tile and floor work outside the kitchen and bath, including entries, living areas and fireplace walls.

  • Finish carpentry

Trim, baseboards, casings, doors and built-ins installed with tight joints and clean lines.

  • Repairs and patching

Fixing what is damaged or worn so it blends in with what is already there.

How it works

How a construction project runs

A predictable process, so you always know what happens next.

  1. Describe the project

Call or send the form. Photos and a rough description help Alex understand the job before he visits.

  2. Visit and honest answer

Alex looks at the work and tells you straight whether it is a fit and how he would approach it.

  3. Written quote

You get a written scope and quote, so you know what is included before work starts.

  4. Do the work, check it together

The job is done carefully and cleaned up after, then we look it over with you before calling it complete.

Choices worth thinking through

General construction covers a lot of ground. A few things are worth knowing up front.

  • Drywall finish levels

Walls that catch strong side light, from big windows or wall washers, show every imperfection. A smoother, higher level of finish costs more but is worth it on those walls.

  • Matching existing finishes

Patches and additions look best when the texture, trim profile and paint sheen match what is already there. We look at the existing work closely before starting.

  • Transitions between rooms

Where two floors meet, or a new wall meets an old one, the detail at the joint decides whether the work looks original or added on.
